BARANGAY ASSEMBLY MARCH 30, 2013 !
Sangguniang Barangay of Sto.Niño held it's first bi-annual Synchronized Barangay Assembly,
as mandated by Proclamation No. 342, last March 30, 2013 Black Saturday at 9:00 in the morning at the barangay basketball court in Manotoc Subdivision.
The assembly started with welcome greetings from the Barangay Kagawads followed by Vice Mayor Cadiz and the Councilors.
Kagawad Roy R. Delegado acted as the host.
Kapitan Barako reported on the budget, funds and some finished and proposed projects
of the barangay. He also discussed about the peace and order of the barangay. Merienda was served while some questions by our constituents were answered
by Kapitan Barako.
Before the assembly ended, the City Mayor Hon. Del de Guzman gave a surprised visit.

Philippine National Flag Day !
The Philippine National Flag Day is celebrated on the 28th day of May of every year to commemorate the date when the Philippine flag was first unfurled after
the Philippine Revolutionary Army defeated the Spanish forces in the Battle of Alapan in 1898.
The celebration starts from May 28 until June 12, the Philippine Independence Day. All Filipinos are then encouraged to display the Philippine flag in all offices, agencies and instruments of government, business
establishments, schools and private homes throughout this period provided that they abide the law governing its proper use and display, as mandated by Republic Act 8491 (The Flag and Heraldic Code of the Philippines).

Synchronized Barangay Assembly March 31, 2012 !
Sangguniang Barangay of Sto.Niño held its bi-annual Synchronized Barangay Assembly last March 31, 2012,
as mandated by Proclamation No. 342, 9:00 in the morning at the Senior Citizen's Garden.
Present during the assembly are all the barangay council headed by Punong Barangay Domingo "Barako" dela Paz with Hon. Vice Mayor Fabian Cadiz, Hon. Councilor Ronnie Acuña, Hon. Councilor Jojo Banzon, Hon. Councilor Mario de Leon , City Administrator Mr. Vic Sabiniano and the representatives
from DILG, Director Cesar M. Schneiders and Mr. Danilo Buracan.
The assembly started with welcome greetings from the Barangay Kagawads followed by Vice Mayor Cadiz and the Councilors, CA Mr. Sabiniano and DILG Director Mr. Schneiders.
Barangay administrator Rizaldy Josef acted as the host.
Kapitan Barako reported on the budget, funds and some finished and proposed projects
of the barangay. Primarily the construction of the new Barangay Hall besides Manotoc basketball court, with the help and support of Congressman Marcy Teodoro.
He also discussed about the peace and order of the barangay. He made mentioned that Marikina City is still on top of the list of a peacefull city.
Lastly, Kapitan Barako believes that reviving the shoe industry in Marikina will make us again number one and be known all over the world as the shoe capital and
it will also create jobs for our constituents which will contribute to better life in the barangay.
Kapitan Barako, assured that he will do his best as the Barangay Chairman until his end term by 2013.
The assembly ended with sumptuous lunch.

2010 BARANGAY AND SANGGUNIANG KABATAAN ELECTIONS
SK voters’ registration open on weekends
COMELEC sets SK listing to August 6 until August 15
The Commission on Elections, in a resolution, has set the dates for Sangguniang Kabataan (SK)
voters’ registration to August 6, 2010 until August 15, 2010.
COMELEC Resolution No. 9004, promulgated July 12, 2010, stressed on the value of having an “assembly of youth” in
every Barangay. Called the “Katipunan ng Kabataan,” its primary objective according to Article 202, Rule XXVII of
the Rules and Regulations Implementing the Local Government Code of 1991, is “to enhance the social, political,
economic, cultural, intellectual, moral, moral, spiritual and physical development of the youth of the country.”
The COMELEC said any Filipino citizen who are at least fifteen (15) but below eighteen (18) years of age and are
residents of the Barangay where they intend to vote for at least six (6) months, may register as members of the
Katipunan ng Kabataan.
“The applications for registration as members of the Katipunan ng Kabataan shall be filed from 8:00 o’ clock in
the morning to 7:00 o’ clock in the evening, at the Office of the Election Officer of the city/municipality where
the applicant resides,” stated the COMELEC resolution.
The COMELEC said SK voters may register even on weekends.
Applicants must present any of the following documents when they register: A) Certificate of Live Birth,
B) Baptismal Certificate, C) School Records or any other document that will establish his identity and other
qualifications.
The COMELEC however clarified that Community Tax Certificates or cedulas or certification from the Barangay
will not be honored.

OPERATION: TULE
The City Government of Marikina through the City Health Office will be conducting
its annual Operation: TULE program starting April 12, 2010 to May 4, 2010.
Screening and registration of boys to undergo the said procedure will be done at the City Health Centers.
For barangay Sto. Niño, the schedule is April 16, 2010 Friday from 8:00 a.m to 12:00 noon with a target of 75 boys.

Hiyas ng Sto. Niño is Hiyas ng Marikina 2009
1st Runner-up!
Our candidate this year for Hiyas ng
Marikina 2009, Ms. Rose Ann G. Bumatay was crowned Hiyas ng
Marikina 1st runner-up. Held last April 17, 2009 in Teatro
Marikina. She was also awarded Best in Swimsuit.
During the long gown competition, she was
escorted by well-groomed Kagawad Roy R. Delgado.
Miss Rose Ann wore a black gown made by Nick Plaza,
hair and make up by Jerrai Obedencia.
This year's Hiyas ng Marikina, is Ms. Soujood Jayosi of
brgy. Parang. Other winners are; 2nd runner-up, Ms. Ralyn Nicole Wynfield of brgy. Tañong,
3rd runner-up, Ms. Crizza Mae Cabug-os of brgy. Concepcion Dos and 4th runner-up, Ms. Charisse Francisco of brgy. IVC.
Last year's Hiyas ng Barangay Sto. Niño,
Ms. Jennifer Leonardo was crowned Hiyas ng Marikina 2nd runner-up.
Hiyas ng Marikina is an annual beauty pageant and a project of Zonta Club of
Marikina in cooperation with the Association of Barangay Council and the City Government.
Congratulations to all the winners.
